My latest obsession- OMAD sheet masks
Ok so I have to admit- I never really understood the whole sheet mask craze- I dont know why, I guess I just figured there are simpler modes of delivering product to the skin without having to sit with something on your face, sometimes uncomfortably, for 15 minutes. Then OMAD came along and let’s just say my mind has been changed, in this instance at least.
After having seen so many of my esthetician friends post about these masks for awhile now, my interest was piqued, so I reached out to OMAD and had them send me a couple of samples. After incorporating their products into my treatments for a couple of days, I was hooked!
OMAD is a company powered by eastern philosophy and Traditional Chinese Medicine- Things that have personally impacted my own wellness journey over the years. Formulated with things like Ectoin, a bacteria first found surving at the bottom of a salt lake in Egypt, an environment not conducive to anything survivng- This stuff acts like a shield that protects the skin from external damage.
After a call with Ze, the founder of the company, I was intrigued to find out about his own journey with eczema, and how this company was born out of a desire to treat his own skin when modern western medicine and steroids had failed to give him any relief. TCM is one of the few health models that treats the person as a whole being, honing in on the cause of concerns and not just treating symptoms.
We talked a lot about how after the fires in LA, many more people are presenting with eczema flare ups due to the environmental pollutants, and also the stress people are experiencing, which is a huge trigger for any skin issue. The ingredients in these masks holistically address a wide range of concerns, and the mode of delivery uses bio-cellulose fibers, which have been used to treat burn victims, creating a second skin that reduces redness within 45 minutes.
While both the Bio-cellulose Repair and Instant Firm and Lift masks utilize many of the same ingredients, the addition of a bio peptide known to mimic Botox in the Instant Firm and Lift sets it apart. I used this on a woman's face the other day and had to pick my jaw up off the floor when I saw how in her 70s it transformed her skin.
